“Nku has been well received by his teammates, and he is a good human being,” said the 36-year-old mentor.
“I know there was a question mark when we signed him. In South Africa, we are not very patient. I am glad of his (Nku) performance in his first start of the game. I think he will get better when the season progresses. He will also settle well as he has good teammates around him. I am glad he scored two goals.”
On Sundowns’ victory against Abafana Bes‘thende, Mokwena said: “I think we played much better against Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs than today (Tuesday). But today against Arrows, we scored goals which are the most important thing.”
He added: “I think the team is in a good position; the players know where I think we should improve and play better. We will improve and play better as we are adapting to the new way and organisation. But the most important thing is to keep winning. But compared to our rivals, I think we have done exceptionally well. We have to focus on ourselves.”
Peter Shalulile and Grant Kekana scored Downs’ other goals.
Downs also lead on the log after winning all their opening three league matches.
