Pirates Run Riot Vs Sekhukhune

Orlando Pirates thrashed Sekhukhune United 5-0 at Orlando Stadium to book their ticket in the MTN8 semi-finals, with Zakhele Lepasa scoring his first-ever top-flight hat-trick.

Zakhele Lepasa continued his fine goalscoring form, opening the scoring after 22 minutes after being set up by Patrick Maswanganyi.

Pirates should’ve made it 2-0 just before the break but Lepasa twice hit the woodwork, first via a deflected shot from Ndlondlo and then the bar on the second attempt.

A minute later Relebohile Mofokeng a good save from Badra Ali Sangare to keep the score-line at 1-0.

Nkosinathi Sibisi had the ball in the back of the net just after the break but he was rightfully flagged offside.

Sekhukhune had a chance to equalise when Paseka Mokaba brought down Chibuike Ohizu in the box, but the Sekhkune man only hit the post.

Just a minute later, Lepasa was in the right spot to make it 2-0 after Monnapule Saleng hit the post and the rebound bounced off Lepasa into the back of the net.

Another two minutes later, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo put the nail in the coffin of Babina Noko after his shot got deflected into he back of the net for Pirates’ third goal.

The hosts were on fire now and Saleng scored the fourth in the 61st minute to wild celebrations on and off the pitch.

Pirates had a chance to make it five, but Lepasa skied a penalty instead of celebrating a hat-trick.

But the celebration was just postponed as he did finally complete his first-ever top flight hat-trick after 88 minutes complete the riot.
