AmaZulu FC defender is set for a loan move as chances of him featuring for the club this season are minimal.
Usuthu are expected to have a lot of player movements after the president estimated 11 exits. Sandile Zungu said this during their end-of-the-season press conference.
At the time, he only confirmed Lehlonolo Majoro as the club’s first departure. Now, Dumisani Zuma has also officially waved his goodbyes to the club having signed for Moroka Swallows this week.
The club also let go of Rally Bwalya to Sekhukhune United in a swap deal that saw Victor Letsoalo coming down to Durban.
Meanwhile, Keagan Buchanan’s representative also confirmed to IOL Sport that the player wouldn’t return to Usuthu next season.
Now, FARPost understands that AmaZulu are planning to loan Thendo Mukumela ahead of the 2023/24 season.
AMAZULU FC DEFENDER SET FOR LOAN MOVE
“Thendo won’t be at AmaZulu next season,” said the source. “However, he’s not leaving permanently, it’s going to be a loan move.”
The Mamelodi Sundowns academy graduate joined the Durban-based club at the start of the 2022/23 season from Cape Town Spurs.
He struggled to get minutes as he only made four appearances in all competitions. He played three matches in the DStv Premiership and one in the MTN8. However, it’s still unclear where the Ngwenani-born right-back will be heading to try and get some game time.
Meanwhile, other players who could be heading out include Samkelo Mgwazela who’s being chased by TS Galaxy as previously reported by this website.
USUTHU’S SIGNINGS SO FAR
Apart from Letsoalo, AmaZulu have secured the services of Celimpilo Ngema, Mondli Mbanjwa and Mfanafuthi Mkhize. And they are also assessing Wayde Jooste who left Maritzburg United after they suffered relegation.
Usuthu have also been linked with Sibongiseni Mthethwa of Stellenbosch FC and Rowan Human of Maritzburg United.
