After parting ways with relegated Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM] Xolani ‘Blackberry’ Nkala has found a new home ahead of the 2023/24 season.
‘Blackberry’, as he is popularly known within the football circles will still be playing in the PSL in the upcoming campaign after spending a season with the Vhembe-based side.
The dribbling wizard previously represented the now-defunct Mbombela United, where he spent two seasons.
Despite TTM being relegated, Nkala was among the fan’s favourites in the last term.
XOLANI NKALA FINDS NEW HOME
Nkala has joined Motsepe Foundation Championship club JDR Stars for the new season. He will be expected to showcase his God-given talent and guide the side to the promised.
His rich experience of the beautiful game is one thing that aligns perfectly with his new club for the forthcoming season.
The acquisition of Nkala is seen as a key move to fortify JDR’s squad with the hope of gaining automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership.
In an interview with FARPost not so long ago, ‘Blackberry’ revealed that it felt good to play in the PSL. Nkala is someone who is known for showboating skills at Kasi festive tournaments.
Nkala revealed that he had a fantastic stint with TTM despite the club’s ups and downs. The club had to relocate to Mangaung, Free State. And also changing it’s colours which were synonymous with the now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic.
He went on to state that others were ready to write his obituary following his return to the professional ranks. He noted they were waiting to see whether he would fail so they can write all about it.
Last season, JDR finished in position six after collecting 45 points from 30 outings.
JDR will unveil the in the next coming days, as the club remain optimistic about the future.
