DStv Premiership side Richards Bay are set to release midfielder Ndiviwe Mdabuka.
Mdabuka joined Natal Rich Boyz at the beginning of the season after they clinched promotion to the South African top flight.
The midfield maestro helped All Stars in the 2021/22 season to finish in the play-offs spot, as he was the club’s top goalscorer with 10 goals.
But he couldn’t repeat his fine form at the Natal Rich Boyz, making just 13 appearances – only one in the starting XI – without scoring a goal.
Despite not getting much game-time at Bay, the 32-year-old was helpful to the club off the field with his experience, as he previously played in the top flight with Ajax Cape Town.
According to a close source, the club is in talks with the midfielder as they want release him a year before the expiry of his contract after ‘Diva’ signed a two-year-deal with Bay at the beginning of season.
Before joining the KwaZulu-Natal side Chippa United were interested to the player but it remains to be seen whether they will revive their interest.
