Wydad Fans Won’t Play The Match – Koller

Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller says they won’t be intimidated by the hostile atmosphere at the Stade Mohamed V and the Wydad fans won’t play the match.

The Egyptian giants hold a 2-1 lead of Wydad from the first-leg final in Cairo last week and are aiming for the record-extending 11th CAF Champions League title.

In what is a repeat of last season’s final in which Wydad triumphed at the same stadium, Koller opened up on what is set to be a historic affair this evening.

“I am happy to be in the CAF Champions League final and I hope that the match will be held in a healthy and fair atmosphere in accordance with FIFA rules, especially regarding refereeing,” Koller said pre-match, as per KingFut.

“All the players are well-prepared for the game, and we are happy to play in front of several fans. The players are highly motivated.

“We won the first leg, so we have the upper hand as Wydad’s goal did not change the result.

“Our players have the experience on how to deal with the crowd, as they previously played in front of 60,000 fans or more in different matches.

“Wydad’s fans won’t take part in the game, and they won’t affect our performance, but they will only support their team.”

The second leg semi-final will kick off at the iconic arena in Casablanca at 21h00 this evening.
