Mamelodi Sundowns rising star Ntando Nkosi has opened up on sharing the pitch with his idol at the Tshwane giants.
Nkosi, the talented teenager who announced his arrival at the Engine Under-19 tournament made his breakthrough in the first team in the just ended 2022/23 PSL season.
The youngster’s career elevated very fast. The attacker nicknamed ‘Scara’ went on from playing for the Under-19s to the first team, skipping the reserve team [DStv Diski Challenge].
His debut was in the CAF Champions League against Cameroon side Coton Sport FC coming in as a substitute late in the second half.
All-in-all he ended up making four appearances for the Tshwane giants.
NTANDO NKOSI ON PLAYING ALONGSIDE HIS IDOL THEMBA ZWANE
According to Nkosi, playing alongside Themba Zwane was a dream come true for him. Zwane helps youngsters in settling in the team that is full of stars and a lot of talent.
“I feel blessed because I grew up watching these people on tv, but when I got the chance to play with him [Themba Zwane] I was over the moon,” said Nkosi.
“I can’t describe the feeling and even now it makes me happy to think about it.
“He’s a very humble human being, he guides and advises the young players because whenever we go to him to ask him for guidance. I am grateful that he helps us out and offers.”
WHAT NTANDO NKOSI IS AIMING FOR NEXT SEASON
Nkosi further disclosed on what he’s aiming for in the 2023/24 season.
“I told myself that I will be part of the team next season against all odds, I am going to play because I am willing to work extra hard.
“Everyday I have to work very hard and have the mentality that now it’s time to work,” he added.
