After Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced 23-man squad to face Morocco, here are the 11 players who were cut from the selection.
South Africa will host Morocco on 17 June at the FNB Stadium, and look to finish their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a positive result.
Both teams are already qualified but Broos insisted he won’t take the game lightly and wants to finish with a positive result.
As a consequence, Broos went with many of his tested and proven players for his final 23-man squad, leaving some in-form stars such as Iqraam Rayners and Khanyisa Mayo out of the squad.
Kobamelo Kodisang was also left out again, despite his brilliant campaign in the Portuguese second division, where he helped them gain promotion with 11 goals and five assists.
Below are all players cut from the squad:
Melusi Buthelezi (TS Galaxy)
Given Msimango (TS Galaxy)
Taariq Fielies (Cape Town City)
Khuliso Mudau (Mamelodi Sundowns)
Grant Margeman (SuperSport United/Mamelodi Sundowns)
Miguel Timm (Orlando Pirates)
Sphelele Mkhulise (Mamelodi Sundowns)
Kobamelo Kodisang (Moreirense)
Khanyisa Mayo (Cape Town City)
