AmaZulu FC president Sandile Zungu has provided the latest update on the future of the club’s Technical Advisor Romain Folz.
The French-Moroccan, who replaced the current Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter in October, was removed from the coaching role in April as the results weren’t forthcoming.
Zungu confirmed that Folz tendered his resignation as the club’s Technical Advisor. He expressed his intentions to seek for coaching opportunities elsewhere.
AMAZULU PROVIDE LATEST UPDATE ON ROMAIN FOLZ’S FUTURE
“He indicated that he’s anxious to get back to the bench and he’s exploring a number of options that are quite exciting for him,” said Zungu.
“And in that case he would rather resign from the team. And I accepted that decision that he wants to be on the bench as a coach. Not as a Technical Director or Advisor behind the scenes.
“He’s a young man that has got a great future and I don’t blame him by choosing to be on the front end of the value chain.
“So, that’s basically the situation. He’ll be leaving AmaZulu Football Club to pursue a career elsewhere. And in that regard, I thank both Ayanda Dlamini and Romain Folz ‘Fohloza’ for the great role that they have played in endeavoring to take AmaZulu going forward.”
While many have criticised AmaZulu hierarchy for appointing the 32-year-old, Zungu has insisted he has no regrets.
He went on express his gratitude to the former Marumo Gallants mentor.
‘THERE ARE NO REGRETS’
“We are very happy with the role that ‘Fohloza’ played in AmaZulu and we wish him the best in his future endeavors,” he added.
“And there are no regrets about anything trust.”
Folz oversaw 19 games at AmaZulu, winning only four games, losing six and drawing nine.
