AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu has announced that the club has parted ways with 11 players, while they have already secured three new signings.

Zungu revealed a host of changes to his club during a press conference on Monday morning, where he confirmed the exits of caretaker coach Ayanda Dlamini and ‘Technical Advisor’ Romain Folz.

While a new coach is yet to be named, Zungu also stated the club want to add a Sporting Director to their structures – with both positions yet to be filled.

On the squad changes, Zungu announced that 11 players have been informed that they will leave the club, but he didn’t want to reveal their names, apart from legendary striker Lehlohonolo Majoro.

“We’ve made changes at technical team level, at administrative level, we made changes in our squad,” he said.

“I’m not going to read out all the names of players who are gone, but among the people who have gone is the legendary Lehlohonolo Majoro, who has done so much for the team.

“We say big thank you to Major, for his exemplary role he has played at AmaZulu Football Club. We wish him all the best.

“There is 11 players that have been let go. They have been formally informed in their presence through their agents that we have chose to not renew their contracts or we have chose not to exercise the option we had.

“I know some of those are negotiating with other club, I don’t want to be that team that makes it hard for them to negotiate contracts, hence I don’t disclose their names. We leave it to their new teams to reveal their new signings.”

Meanwhile, the Usuthu president announced that the club have already made three signings, with two of them being signed from the second division.

However, Zungu didn’t want to reveal their names, but he did confirm the arrival of Celimpilo Ngema on a free transfer from Marumo Gallants, as reported by iDiski Times in January.

“We already have three players. Celimpilo Ngema, we have a pre-contract with him,” he confirmed.

“He’s looking forward to coming on board at AmaZulu, we’re looking forward to having him here.

“There are another two great youngsters that we got from a team at NFD [Motsepe Foundation Championship], I’ll not reveal that the team, nor will I reveal the players. I don’t want to steal the thunder of the new technical team.”
