It seemed there was breakdown in communication, as Moaz later claimed the club’s fans had asked the Saudi Arabian giants, who had been relegated for the first time in their history, not to celebrate the First Division title.
The situation comes amid uncertainty over Mosimane’s future despite leading the club to promotion and the Yelo League title, but the club seemingly want to head into the new season with an European coach.
It is understood that the club are not keen to activate a one-year clause in Mosimane’s contract, while the South African tactician stated that clause was activated automatically when he gained promotion.
“We will sit down and hold a technical discussion on all the details with the coach about his vision of the nature of the competition and what the team lacked for development,” he said, as per Yallakora.
“And we will draw a general picture that is appropriate, and the club deserves the best from us.”
It remains to be seen what will happen to Mosimane, but the incident around the trophy celebration points to a breakdown in communication between the South African coach and the club’s management.
