Legend! P Diddy calls out DJ Black Coffee [watch]

On Wednesday, 24 May, a video was posted online showing American rapper and executive producer Sean Combs, best known as Diddy, aka P Diddy complaining about the South African international disc jockey Black Coffee—real name Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo which left netizens praising the Grammy-Award winning DJ.

Long before Black Coffee was a star, he was like many township boys from Umlazi that had big dreams. According to Zalebs, Black Coffee’s music career took off in 2003 when he joined the Red Bull Music Academy. He was said to have stood out for his deep, soulful house music compilations. Recently, he was said to be one of the highest-paid DJs and charges between $150 000 (an estimated R2.7 million) to $300 000 (R5.5 million) per gig.

Black Coffee has rubbed shoulders with countless international A-listers during the rise of his career including rapper Drake, DJ David Guetta, rapper Busta Ryhmes and more. He has also had his fans from all around the world captivated by his sets. According to his posters, in recent weeks, he has played in London, Barcelona, and Las Vegas, and according to Diddy, Black Coffee had also been booked to play in Miami.

In the video which has gone viral online, Diddy could be heard saying,

“This is a real-life situation. Why is Black Coffee in Miami on a f*cking Sunday?! It doesn’t make no sense of mine. Bruv, we gotta work bruv! Black Coffee is here on a Sunday bruv! Come on bruv.”

The hilarious video had Black Coffee’s fans in awe that a huge Hollywood star such as Diddy was going bonkers over the idea of attending the Drive hitmaker’s performance. The online users have since rushed to the comment section on Twitter and praised Black Coffee on his success.
