DStv CEO Marc Jury has confirmed to this publication that they will “recreate the same design” for the DStv Premiership trophy next season after Mamelodi Sundowns were given the current one.

Jury revealed on SuperSport TV after Mamelodi Sundowns clinched the league title on Tuesday that the Brazilians will keep the current trophy after winning it three times under the sponsorship of the satellite company.

It was unclear whether DStv was going to come up with a new design or will keep it the same way, but Jury told this publication they will go with the same design.

“Ideally we will recreate the same design,” said Jury to iDiski Times.

DStv took over as the headline sponsor of the PSL ahead of the 2020/21 season, replacing the commercial bank ABSA.

DStv, when the deal was announced by the PSL chairman Dr Irvin Khoza on 24 September 2020, confirmed that the partnership with league will last for the next five years, meaning as for next season they will enter fourth year in the contract.

This season DStv confirmed that all league matches will be shown live on SuperSport TV, with others beamed on their streaming service called OTT.
