Orlando Pirates forward Terrence Dzvukamanja admits he’s not entirely sure if he will remain at the club with his contract set to expire at the end of the current season.

The Zimbabwe international looked set to be headed for the exit door at the start of the season and in January, as he played a bit-part role in the team and was often subject of ridicule from the club’s supporters for his lack of goals.

Back in August, this publication spoke to the former Ngezi Platinum Star, who at the time stated he was happy to remain at the club and fight for his place and still even harbored ambitions of moving abroad.

“I’m happy to be here, obviously. That thing of saying ‘did you hear this or that ‘- for me, I didn’t hear anything,” he said in Edition 67 of iDiski Times back in August 2022 before the start of the new DStv Premiership season.

“I didn’t know there was something like that [of me leaving]. But I’m very happy to be here. I still have this season, it’s my final year [of my contract].”

However, the 29-year-old has staked his claim under Jose Riveiro in the first eleven, scoring six goals in his last eight starts while registering one assist – featuring in a role that compliments their attacking threat with Monnapule Saleng and Thembinkosi Lorch on the wings.

“For me, I’m not sure. That one is for my agent to tell me what is happening, what is on the ground,” Dzvukamanja said when asked by iDiski Times if he will be around next season.

“So for me as a player, I’m still here so I can say, if we win, we will go and play Champions League. I want to play in the Champions League, it’s a big thing.

“The same as wanting to play AFCON as a player, so, for me – I want to play Champions League, that is why we are pushing hard as a team to secure second spot to play Champions League next season.”

Dzvukamanja arrived at Pirates after the status sale of Bidvest Wits and has two MTN8 titles to his name at the club. Meanwhile, the Sea Robbers are currently on track to finish in second place, sitting two points ahead of SuperSport United with two games remaining.

Two wins against Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu would secure them that runners-up spot to qualify for the CAF Champions League next season.
