Lionel Messi is back and available to train with the PSG first-team for their match with Ajaccio on Saturday, sources told ESPN.

The Argentine was suspended for making an unsanctioned trip to Saudi Arabia last week and missing practice. PSG decided to shorten the player’s suspension, originally reported by French media to be two weeks. This was after the 35-year-old issued an apology to the club, his teammates and fans.

Lionel Messi still fined two weeks’ wages by PSG

The World Cup winner will be docked two weeks’ wages, which is approximately €1.6 million (R32.2 Million).

PSG posted a picture of Messi training on social media, along with the caption: “The Argentinian striker from Paris Saint-Germain was back in training on Monday 8 May.”

Messi’s future at PSG remains unclear, with a source close to the Argentinian icon could be mulling over an offer from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal.

Saudi Arabia appointed Messi its tourism ambassador last year, and he visited Jeddah in May 2022.

PSG and Messi are six points clear of Lens and eight ahead of Marseille with four games remaining the Ligue 1 season as they hope to wrap up the title.
