AEW All in is set to be the promotion’s biggest ever show after an incredible first day of ticket pre-sales.

Tony Khan, the AEW CEO and head of creative, made no secret of his ambition to hold a show in London.

AEW shatters expectations

Many believed it would be at the stadium of Fulham, the Premier League team owned by the Khan’s, however the promoter called a much bigger shot.

When AEW announced a Wembley show there were those who doubted their ability to draw a crowd that would come close to filling the cavernous national stadium.

However, backed by impressive TV numbers AEW set out to stage All In at the iconic venue.

That shot appears to have paid off with over 35,000 tickets sold on the first day of pre-sales.

According to Forbes reporter Alfred Konuwa: “A since-deleted screenshot of Wembley Stadium on Ticketmaster suggested seats would be available throughout the entire building as the promotion seeks a full-capacity sellout.

“The spirit of AEW All In—an idea lifted from Cody Rhodes—is to disrupt the pro wrestling business with a record-breaking non-WWE event, the way the original All In sold over 10,000 tickets as one of the biggest non-WWE pay-per-views in history.”

All In going for a sell-out

Given what it means to invoke the spirit of All In, a concept championed by the prodigal son of the son of a plumber Cody Rhodes, it is likely that Khan would drop some major story beats at this event giving it a massive show feel.

The show has the potential to draw the biggest crowd outside of a WWE event since the demise of WCW.

The all-time record for a wrestling crowd remains out of reach with a 170,000 head crowd reported to have attended the second day of the controversial Collision in Korea show put on by WCW and NJPW in.

You can watch AEW programming on TNT Africa on weekends from 10:00 SAST.
