South African striker Siyabonga Ligendza has won promotion with AFC Fylde in his first season with the club.
The Cardiff City Academy product joined the National League North side in the off-season with the intention to secure regular first-team football after recovering from a leg break.
And he’s done just that featuring in 24 league games in his first campaign in senior football with six goals to his name en route to securing the title.
The 20-year-old and his side are now moving up to the Vanarama National National League, the fifth tier of English football, as he looks to build his career towards the English Football League.
Ligendza was named in the provisional U23 squad recently that lost out to Congo U23 for a place at the upcoming U23 Africa Cup of Nations but paperwork prevented his inclusion in the final squad named by then-head coach David Notoane.
The towering striker who was born in Leicester is also eligible to represent Wales at senior level and featured for their national U16 side on three occasions whilst rising up the ranks at the Bluebirds Academy.
