Beloved Chiefs star to return to his former club?

Kaizer Chiefs defender-cum-midfielder Njabulo Ngcobo is linked with a return to AmaZulu.

KAIZER CHIEFS’ NJABULO NGCOBO TO REJOIN AMAZULU?

According to this new report,13 appearances this season have led to the 28-year-old Ngcobo itching to move where he will enjoy regular game time.

“He has made it clear to his representatives that he wants to go where he will get game time. He wants to play football,” the source told FARPost.

“At some point, he was in the national team and feels if he was playing consistently, he would have a chance of playing for Bafana Bafana.

“He is keen on AmaZulu, but he will be open to any other club that will give him a fair chance to play football,” the source added.

FORMER AMAKHOSI SKIPPER TO COACH HIS NATION

Former Kaizer Chiefs skipper Patrick Mabedi is going international. He has been named as Malawi’s assistant coach.

Remember Patrick Mabedi in a Chiefs shirt? Of course, you should. He captained Amakhosi for eight seasons with his shirt always tucked into his shorts.

The news was announced by the Malawi Football Association via social media. The report said the former Chiefs number five will double up as the U20s coach on what is a short-term deal until September 2023.

“FAM has appointed Flames Assistant coach and Under 20 Head Coach Patrick Mabedi as Flames Caretaker coach until September 2023,” the FA said.

“Mabedi will see the team through the two remaining 2023 AFCON Qualifiers against Ethiopia in June and Guinea in September as well as the COSAFA Cup in May,” the note added.
