Hunt Disappointed After Dropping Points Again

SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt was left highly disappointed after his charges dropped points in the goalless draw against Marumo Gallants in the DStv Premiership in Polokwane on Tuesday night.

Though Matsatsantsa moved back to second spot on the log with 44 points, they missed a number of chances including a late penalty that would have seen them open a two-point gap to top two contenders Orlando Pirates, who now have a chance to go clear of the Buccaneers.

Hunt says his side, who’ve now only won one of their last four matches, are making finishing second hard for themselves and they need to bury their chances.

“Wasn’t our best performance but we still should have won the game comfortably you know. We had some great moments some great opportunities. We got to score,” said Hunt after the game.

“Oh we were well ahead three games ago, we’ve obviously made it hard for ourselves. We’ve had a game against Chippa [United] like this, the same thing, we should have won four or five nil, we drew 1-1, then we draw again so ja it is what it is.

“We don’t worry about that we deserve it because we are the best behind them, Sundowns you know. We could have been miles ahead.

“We were six, seven points clear at one stage and we just haven’t taken our chances in our last three, four games. So it is what it is.

“That’s what football is all about, you got to score. Before the penalty I mean it [the ball] was on the goal line, you could roll it in and we don’t score and all the other chances.

“It’s totally injust but that’s football you got to work harder. We just got to work harder, stick together. They’re giving me their all, they are achieving with what we got. We got to keep going that’s all we can do”

SuperSport are now at home against struggling AmaZulu in their next league encounter in Tshwane on Sunday.
