Nedbank Cup Prize Money Revealed

All four Nedbank Cup semi-finalists secured themselves at least R1 million in prize money over the weekend, but that amount will be seven times as much for the eventual winner.

Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC, Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs all booked their last four tickets, meaning all of them will at least get R1 million.

Meanwhile, for the two winners of the semi-finals R2.5 million are up for grabs after Kaizer Chiefs will host Orlando Pirates in a Soweto Derby.

The winner of that tie, as well as the winner of the second semi-final between Stellenbosch and Sekhukhune will be guaranteed R2.5 million in prize money.

Meanwhile, the team that goes on to win the competition will bank a whopping R7 million, making the competition among the last four all the more interesting.

There will be a new winner in this year’s competition after defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns were knocked by Stellies.

The Masandawana, like Dondol Stars, Chippa United and Royal AM, have all earned R400,000 for their participation in the quarter-finals.

Below is the overall breakdown of the Nedbank Cup prize money, as confirmed to iDiski Times by the Premier Soccer League:

Winner: R7 million

Runners-up: R2.5 million

Semi-final: R1 million

Quarter-final: R400,000
