Former Chiefs Player Retires From Football

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United midfielder Sandile Zuke has officially announced his retirement from football after 16 years in the professional setup.

Zuke started his career in the 2007/08 season when he joined Amakhosi, but things didn’t go too well for him at Naturena and he was loaned out to Mpumalanga Black Aces.

After a successful loan spell he made the move permanent in 2010. But after one-and-a-half seasons, he was released by Aces and was club-less for three months up until Thailand side Osotspa snatched him.

But he only spent three months there and returned to Black Aces in July 2012. Since then he has been donning the shirts of Chippa United, Lamontville Golden Arrows, Cape Town City, Uthongathi and Bizana Pondo Chiefs.

He played his last football in the colours of the KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League side Summerfield Dynamos, but after failing to make it to the promotional playoffs he decided to hang up his boots.

The 35-year-old has made 144 appearances in all competitions scoring two goals and assisting on three occasions, according to Transfermarkt, featuring 60 times for Chippa United and just six times for Chiefs.

By the look of things Zuke has started the process of being a coach.
