Zwane On Sundowns Title – It’s A Challenge For Everyone

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane says Mamelodi Sundowns wrapping up the title with seven games to spare is a challenge for the rest of the DStv Premiership next season.

Sundowns were crowned league champions without kicking a ball this weekend as Chippa United held SuperSport United to a 1-1 draw, leaving them mathematically out of the race.

It marked their sixth consecutive league crown and they are now set to receive a guard of honour seven times before their crowning on the final day of the 2022/23 campaign.

“I would say congrats to them, they have done very well, playing good football, they have done well, it’s a challenge for everyone to take our game to another level,” Zwane said about their title win.

“As I said, we’re a work in progress and we’re growing, getting better and better, as time goes on we’ll be a different and difficult team to play against, and yeah, well done to Sundowns, we’ll take it one game at a time.”

Orlando Pirates, SuperSport and Chiefs occupy second, third and fourth in the table with 40 points as their final six games will determine who secures the final CAF Champions League spot.
