UWC Go Top After Sundowns Suffer Shock Defeat

University of Western Cape (UWC) moved to the top of the Hollywoodbets super league log with 21 points following their 2-0 win over rookies Copperbelt Ladies in Polokwane.

 Khanya Xesi and Sibulele Holweni were on target as Thinasonke Mbuli’s charges remained the only unbeaten side in the league this season and have a game in hand. Copperbelt are 10th on the log with nine points from eight matches.   

In the biggest result of the weekend, Royal AM handed defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies their first defeat of the campaign. Keolebogile Mokhuoa’s sole goal was the difference against Sundowns in the capital city and as a result Sundowns has dropped to second spot on the table with 19 points from eight points.

The KwaZulu-Natal side moved to sixth place with 15 points from the same number of games.

Meanwhile University of Johannesburg (UJ) continued their good form with a 3-0 win over First Touch Academy and remain in third place with 18 points.
