‘Liberia Will Make Bafana Suffer In Monrovia’

Liberia head coach Ansu Keita says the stadium in Monrovia will be filled eight hours before kickoff and they will make South Africa suffer on Tuesday.

After the dramatic 2-2 draw at Orlando Stadium, advantage is in the court of the Lone Stars who will host a home game for the first time in three years.

Keita mentioned the fans will be so hungry, the stadium will be packed to the rafters at the 22,000-seater Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in the morning to create that sort of hostile welcoming for Bafana Bafana.

However, he denied that the artificial surface they are set to play on will favour them massively as a bulk of their squad based abroad has never played on it either.

“The game is 16h00 Liberia time which is 18h00 here, the pitch is artificial, I don’t believe [we have an advantage], even our players don’t play [on] artificial in Europe,” Keita said.

“It’s an advantage for both teams, but what I’m telling you is the tactical strategy we will use to make South Africa suffer and make it know we want to win, we’re not going to choke – we’re going to play, no matter what happens, we will play.

“South Africa is bigger than us, in football, everywhere… but we are more prepared than them at this time, mentally, physically, technically, and tactically we’re prepared and I’m not pushing things, I’m telling the truth, at home we’re prepared.”

When probed by iDiski Times about what made them more prepared than Bafana in the draw last week – he stated; “What makes me more prepared? The answer, you saw it today.

“I think from 2-0 down, hmm, 2-0 down, so that answers your question. So that answers your question, and I mean trust me we’re prepared.

“I’m not going to discuss anything but trust me, we’re more prepared.”

Bafana face off against Liberia at 18h00 in South Africa’s time zone on Tuesday afternoon.
