Newly crowned People’s Choice Award winner and Bafana Bafana king pin Themba Zwane says they know what they have to do when they face Liberia in the must-win Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match in Monrovia.

This after Bafana floundered in the first match of the double-header against the West African nation at Orlando Stadium on Thursday, where they were cruising 2-0 in the first half, before they were stunned back by Ansu Keita’s side.

Coach Hugo Broos’ changes in the second half, especially removing Zwane who was striking fear to Liberia as he was involved in the attack, gave the visitors new impetus to fight back to earn a point.

As Liberia has scored more away goals in Group K, Bafana are left floundering in third spot in the group with a solitary point after two matches.

The game in Monrovia they have no choice but to come out flying from the onset to have chances of booking their spot in the Africa Cup of Nations finals next year in Ivory Coast.

Failure to win tomorrow’s game, chances will be all but over, with North African giants Morocco arriving in the country in June on a good form in the last qualifying match in good form.

“I think as a team we are positive, we are going for the win,” said Zwane via SAFA media.

“We know that we can push ourselves and play our good football and try to take our chances, and we are ready for the game.”

Zwane missed the SA Sport Awards on Saturday night as Bafana had to take a chartered flight in the early morning on Sunday to the West African country and the Sundowns captain took time to thank those who voted for him for the award.

“I really appreciated the fans’ love and I will continue to do my good job and try to entertain them as always,” said Zwane, who returned to the national team fold late last year following his impressive showing at his club that forced coach Broos to recall him.

Zwane was also happy to see Andile Dlamini crowned Sports Star of the Year, after helping Banyana to win their first WAFCON trophy in July last year against hosts Morocco.

“Obviously the big winner of the night – Andile,” said Zwane without hesitating about his home girl.
