Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named a 35-man provisional squad for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Liberia in late March. Lyle Foster and Monnapule Saleng are notable inclusions. Just ONE Kaizer Chiefs man has ,ade the group.

South Africa will host Liberia on March 24th before traveling to Monrovia for the return leg four days later. Broos will trim this group to 23 players when he announces the final squad next week. It’s an exciting group, that’s for sure, with Broos picking a bunch of new attackers based on merit and stellar club performances here and abroad.

Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng’s form is impossible to ignore, as is the midfield mastery of Sundowns man Teboho Mokoena. It’s great to see Percy Tau back in the fold ahead of Al Ahly’s crunch clash with Masandawana at the weekend, while Burnley’s Lyle Foster is back.
