Former Orlando Pirates striker coach Scott Chickelday has hinted that a return to the PSL in the near future is a possibility.

Chickelday spent about four weeks at the Buccaneers in January and made a huge impact with the strikers.

Under the guidance of Chickelday up front, Pirates attackers scored 11 goals in the five matches.

The 48-year-old has also previously worked at clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers.

Chickelday says a PSL return is likely and not just at Pirates.

‘I am still speaking with the club, so who knows? Who knows if I will return with Pirates or anyone else in South Africa,” he told SA FM Sport Show, Sport on

“I am not too sure but it’s somewhere where I also got my eyes on returning to do some work.”

Chickelday has confirmed that conversations were ongoing to see if the working relationship can continue.

“There has been some conversations but like I said we are discussing that to see what can happen. They have a lot of games coming up as well so like I said who knows I would like to return.

“If something can be worked out  fantastic, if not there might be other options like I said at the moment i am not too sure,” he said.

ON WHY HE LEFT IN THE FIRST PLACE

“It was only a short term contract. It was only going to be for five weeks. Looking at it now I would have liked to stay until the end of the season but it just worked out it was five weeks.”

“Obviously I loved football there, I really loved the supporters and I just liked the people. I love South Africa and I think the players are really switched on and they want to learn and that’s what impressed me more than anything.

“The young Africa players have desire to learn. They want to learn so there is no attitude or egos they just turn up everyday to play football and improve as players. That’s why really touched my heart and really drove me to work as hard as I can.”
