Galaxy Coach Addresses Failed R3m Aubaas January Transfer

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic says he will welcome the return of Bathusi Aubaas after his failed January transfer.

Aubaas, 27, has been one of the club’s leading performers since his arrival from Free State Stars in 2019 – and his form this season earned him a call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad.

While he’s yet to make his senior international debut, Hugo Broos had him amongst the squad in the recent international friendlies against Mozambique and Angola.

Kaizer Chiefs and Sekuhkune United were among the teams credited with an interest in the player, who made his desire known for a new challenge.

iDiski Times can confirm Chairman Tim Sukazi slapped an R3-million price tag on the defensive midfielder, which Babina Noko was prepared to meet but his move eventually fell through after failing a medical test – while Brandon Truter’s side also secured Kamohelo Mokotjo on a free transfer.

“Absolutely [he is part of the plans], he is a great guy, great player,” Ramovic said when asked by iDiski Times about his failed move, ahead of their clash against Amavarara.

“He had some ideas, fine. But this for me, I will just put the best team on the field and if Aubaas trains well, he just came back from an injury, if he trains well and shows quality on the field, then he will play, absolutely.

“Our goal is to win games, so we have to put the best eleven on the field that the level [of training shows me] during the week, and if he’s that guy who impressed me, he will play.”

Aubaas started the first 16 consecutive games for the Rockets this season and has been a notable absentee from the matchday squad over their last four games.
