Former Orlando Pirates and FC Twente playmaker Nhlakanipho “Nana” Ntuli has signed with Swedish third-tier side Dalkurd FF.
The 26-year-old was touted as the future of South African football when he left Pirates development for the Eredivisie as a teenager after being courted by Ajax Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven for several months.
However, he spent just one season in their reserve team before being released in 2016 – where he then returned home for a stint with Free State Stars.
He resurfaced in Poland two years later with Sportis Lochowo to restart his career which then led to a move to Slovakia with Kosice – where he scored three goals and four assists in 26 games.
“It feels good to be in this fine club and I look forward to giving everything for the club. I have gotten to know the club and it is a big club, which has high ambitions and which wants to go up to the Superettan again,” Ntuli said about his move.
“It suits me very well to come to a club that has ambitions, a plan and has good structure, and is professional.”
Ntuli will now be aiming to establish himself in Sweden, where the likes of Bradley Ralani and May Mahlangu made their name, along with current Bafana Bafana midfielder Luke Le Roux in the top-flight with Varbergs Bois.
