Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Lazarous Kambole has scored three goals in his first two games since joining ZESCO United – more than in three years at Amakhosi.
Kambole, 29, joined ZESCO on loan from from Yanga in the January transfer window after he wasn’t registered by the Tanzanian giants during the first half of the campaign.
He returned to the Zambian Super League during the January transfer window, completing a loan move.
It’s back to his roots for forward where he emerged as one of leading strikers in Africa between 2014 and 2019 and fired semi-finals of the CAF Champions League back in 2016.
His form back then earned him a move to Kaizer Chiefs but poor form but lack of game-time saw him released before another ill-fated spell in Tanzania.
He’s now returned to Team Ya Ziko, where he reunites with head coach George Lwandamina and has already scored more goals in two games than in his 46 appearances for the Glamour Boys, during which he only found the back of the net twice.
ZESCO also signed afcon and CAFCL winner Nathan Sinkala in the week to further bolster their squad. The Zambia legend was released by Stellenbosch FC in the off-season.
