Galaxy & Chiefs Starting XIs Announced

TS Galaxy and Kaizer Chiefs have announced heir starting line-ups for this afternoon’s DStv Premiership encounter at Mbombela Stadium.

Both teams are coming to this game with their tails up after positive results from previous games.

Galaxy scored four goals for the first time in the DStv Premiership last weekend, beating Lamontville Golden Arrows 4-0 at today’s venue.

That was an important win, as Sead Ramovic’s side sit just one point away from the relegation/promotion playoff-spot. But if they would beat Chiefs on Sunday, they would move back into the top eight.

Amakhosi, meanwhile, won their first game in 2023 after three successive defeats when they saw off a lacklustre Royal AM last weekend.

The Ephefeni Glamour Boys have been struggling to find consistency throughout the season and are currently sitting in fifth place on the standings with 27 points, five points behind second-placed SuperSport United.

Head coach Arthur Zwane stated that the target for the rest of the campaign is to qualify for CAF Champions League and to do so they will have to start with beating the Rockets.

However, they will have to overcome the club’s latest injury crisis, with Khama Billiat ruled out for the rest of the season, while Nkosingiphile Ngcobo will be sidelined for at least three months and Reeve Frosler and Dillan Solomons also out for more than six weeks.

Here is how they line up:

Galaxy XI: tbc

Subs:

Chiefs XI: Petersen, Ngezana, Dove, Kwinika, Hlanti, Sithebe, Maart, Shabalala, Dolly, Du Preez, Bimenyimana.
