Update On Chiefs’ Dube – iDiski Times

Kaizer Chiefs defender Thabani Dube will stay at the club and continue to fight for his place, despite not playing any minute under Arthur Zwane this season.

The former Richards Bay defender hasn’t been getting any game-time during the 2022/23 campaign at Chiefs but that hasn’t shaken him.

He last played in May 2022 on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign against Swallows, when he came on as a second-half substitute, marking his 17th appearance for the Glamour Boys.

The former TS Galaxy man also was an unused substitute in the squad that faced Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup but hasn’t made the match day squad since.

Many thought that Dube might look for game-time this window, but according to a close source the 30-year-old will stay with Chiefs to fight for his place.

In the current campaign we’ve seen Zwane rotate his defence and try out different partnerships as he still looks to get the perfect one. However, Dube is the only Chiefs defender who hasn’t been given a chance yet.

The tall centre-back represented Bafana Bafana six times at last year’s COSAFA Cup when the team lifted the trophy and also has one CHAN appearance against Angola.
