Petrol, diesel price hikes for February confirmed

Petrol and diesel prices will be hiked at midnight on Tuesday, with oil having become more expensive due to stronger Chinese demand, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has confirmed.

Unleaded petrol (both 93 and 95 octanes) will increase by 28 cents a litre, while diesel will be hiked by between one cent to around nine cents a litre.

Petrol 93 increase of 28 cents per litre
Petrol 95 increase of 28 cents per litre
Diesel 0.05% increase of 9 cents per litre
Diesel 0.005% increase of 1 cent per litre
Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale) increase of 58 cents per litre
LPGAS increase of 140 cents per kilogram

The changes will come into effect from midnight on Tuesday, 31 January.
