SuperSport United have agreed to let forward Iqraam Rayners return to Stellenbosch for a transfer deadline-day move.
Rayner, 27, joined Matsatsantsa in July 2020 from Stellies and made 58 appearances in all competitions scoring five goals.
According to a close source, SuperSport played a friendly match today against the University Of Pretoria and Rayners was not part of it as he is set to leave for Cape Town.
Gavin Hunt’s side added Zakhele Lepasa on loan from Orlando Pirates to bolster their attacking options, leaving Rayners with the chance to be sold.
iDiski Times can confirm the two club’s have now agreed a transfer fee, with the former Santos star set to sign a two-and-a-half-year deal with an option to extend.
Stellies made it a priority to improve their attacking options this window, and have since landed Andre de Jong from Royal AM and now their former attacking talisman.
Rayners fired the club to DStv Premiership promotion in 2018, with a Golden Boot-winning season before scoring six goals and registering seven assists in his debut top-flight campaign.
