BOUNCER ALLEGEDLY SHOT AND KILLED BY POLICEMAN IN KAGISO

According to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), the Sergeant went to a local pub in Kagiso on Friday night and bumped into his ex-girlfriend.

The pair had an altercation, which allegedly led to the policeman assaulting the woman.

“The Bouncers at the pub intervened. The police officer then continued to fight the bouncers.

“He went outside and came back with a firearm and started shooting randomly at the direction of the bouncers,” said IPID spokesperson Lizzy Suping.

One of the wounded bouncers was rushed to hospital for medical treatment. He was declared dead on arrival. Another pub guard sustained an injury to his left knee.

The policeman reportedly fled the scene after the shooting. He was later found hiding in a shack three houses away from his place of residence.

The police watchdog is investigating the death of the bouncer, and a post-mortem will be conducted on Monday.

The Directorate is also investigating a Limpopo policewoman who is charged with raping her son on video. She is expected to apply for bail on Monday.
