Ncikazi – Not The Best Game From Us

Orlando Pirates co coach Mandla Ncikazi says it was not the best game from Orlando Pirates in the 2-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby, but he doesn’t feel Chiefs were better than Pirates.

Chiefs won 2-0 on Saturday afternoon to move to second on the DStv Premiership table.

Ncikazi says the disappointing thing for him in the defeat, was that he felt his team performed better than their opponents, but just didn’t find the back of the net.

“Highly disappointing and the most disappointing part is that Chiefs scored the two goals, but we should have scored more,” Ncikazi said in the post match press conference.

“I don’t think they even created so many chances. Not the best game from us, but again, not because the opponents were better than us.

“Just scored two goals, but for the amount of chances that we created, first half, one-on-one with a goalkeeper we couldn’t, Peprah near post we couldn’t, a good save from the keeper at the end.

“So the amount of chances if we were to compare, we created the better chances but we did not take, which is why we lost the match.

“It’s not the opponents out-scoring us – but it’s us not taking our chances that we had. Highly disappointing.”
