It is D-Day for the matric results that will be released TODAY. Good luck!

MATRIC RESULTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE PLATFORMS

But where will you be able to find your results? Here is where to get your matric results. 

A report by BusinessTech stated the chairperson of the quality assurance body Umalusi, Yunus Ballim, held a media briefing on Monday, 16 January, where he said that the results had been given the green light after being administered by the Department of Basic Education and the Independent Examinations Board.

The Basic Education minister Angie Motshekga will announce the results on Thursday, 19 January, with learners able to fetch their results at their school or institution early on Friday, 20 January.

The matric class of 2022 has the largest cohort of candidates to date. 753 964 full-time and 167 915 part-time candidates were registered to write the final matric exams.  

They began writing on 31 October 2022 and finished their last papers on 7 December 2022. 

IF YOU NEED TO RETAKE YOUR UNTIL THIS DATE 

Meanwhile, the department confirmed that matrics will have until Friday, 3 February 2023, to request a remark or recheck their exam papers.

If learners wish to retake an exam or improve their results, the next opportunity will be May/June 2023.

HERE IS WHERE AND HOW YOU CAN GET YOUR RESULTS TOMORROW: 

  • The majority of South Africa’s major daily newspapers will publish the 2022 matric results on Friday, 20 January 2023
  • Learners can get their results directly from the school or institution where they wrote their exams. Note: These results may only be accessible after 12:00 on the release day
  • Learners can text their exam number to 45856. The system will verify their exam number and then send them their results. Each SMS costs R1.50, and free SMSes cannot be used
  • Learners can also access their results directly by logging onto the Department of Basic Education’s website. Before receiving confirmation of their registration, candidates must complete a two-step verification process. They must provide their 13-digit ID number and Exam Number to register. The DBE website can be accessed without data charges, meaning it can be accessed regardless of whether the user has data or not
  • Several online websites will publish the results – including The South African
  • Matrics can receive their results by using the USSD code *120*45856# and entering their exam number to register. The learner’s matric results will be sent to their phone once available. The USSD service will be charged R1.50 per minute
