Mozambique international playmaker Amânsio ‘Neymar’ Canhembe is biding his time for his next move after his recent trial at Kaizer Chiefs.
Chiefs have yet to make an official offer for the free agent after his trial period at Naturena Village, while Botola Pro outfit Olympique Club de Khouribga have since tabled an offer.
But with the Moroccan club languishing 15th in the 16-team division, the former Sporting Lisbon youth player is seemingly not too keen on the idea of relocating to North Africa due to the precarious position at present.
Several inquiries have also been made from his homeland about the Moçambola but at this stage of his career, sources indicate his first priority would be a move to South Africa – or back to Europe where he represented the likes of Vitória FC U23 and Maritimo.
Chiefs also dragged their feet on a previous trialist Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana before recalling the player to sign him – and he’s now hit seven goals in his first nine league games.
But with Zwane indicating they are looking for a striker and a defensive midfielder as their priority January window targets, it’s unlikely they will turn to ‘Neymar’ – who has been capped five times for the senior Os Mambas national team.
