Talented beings like Siphone Mbule need to be shown love

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has explained why midfielder Sipho Mbule needs to be shown love and support to help not only the club but the national team.

Mbule is gradually making his way into the team since his signing at the beginning of the season from DStv Premiership side SuperSport United. He has featured 14 times in all competitions, more as a substitute for Masandawana.

Before his move to Sundowns, Mbule was marred with controversy at Matsatsantsa, specifically towards the end of his stay with the club.

SIPHO MBULE IS AN INCREDIBLE PLAYER

Mokwena has described the 24-year-old as an incredible footballer whose only sin could be that he is too talented.

“Sipho Mbule, in my opinion, is a six and an eight at the most. But in how we want to construct things and the schemes, Sipho Mbule has this la pause [Spanish for ‘the pause’] and then the press resistance to be able to press with a 10.

“Incredible footballer, that boy, but you have to keep a leash strong.”

GIFTED, HUNTED AND HAUNTED

“But that’s talented human beings, but one of your former colleagues Hosea [Ramphekwa], has a book called Gifted, Hunted and Haunted. I want to get Sipho Mbule that copy because it’s very, very true. The most talented beings you can go to your Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. It’s because you are talented. Sometimes you have so many knives,” Mokwena explained.

“Knives that are for you, and some of them are closer to you. So Sipho needs the love and support that he can receive because it’s not only our responsibility towards Mamelodi Sundowns. But also it’s our responsibility to make sure that the best players in our country are playing professional football. So they can help the national team.”
