Dj Zinhle is topping the trends on Twitter after being compared to Uncle Waffles, and Mzansi defended. A Twitterati posted pictures of Dj Zinhle, Uncle Waffles, DJ Hlo and DJ Lamiez with a caption:
Who is the best female DJ here🤔
The post got Mzansi talking as many defended Zinhle for being the great DJ of all time in Mzansi. Many pointed out that it was unfair for Zinhle to be compared to upcoming stars like Waffles, who are still trying to pave the way for themselves in the entertainment industry. A Twitter user commented:
You can’t compare Dj Zinhle and Lamiez against Djs who are still trying to find their feet in the http://industry.You just can’t.
DJ Zinhle is the only one with a proven track record and is still hot 17 years later. Keeping that relevance, keeping the beat going for almost 2 decades, im sorry we can’t begin to even compare. She’s not just a legend, she’s also a pioneer. The others gave a lot to learn
Please respect the DJ Zinhle. She took the no.1 best female djs for the 4th time now in a raw.🔥🔥🔥🔥
A look at DJ Zinhle’s deejaying career
DJ Zinhle grew up in KwaZulu-Natal’s Dannhauser area. Growing up, Zinhle wanted to be an actress and presenter, but fate decided otherwise, and she became a DJ.
In her interview with TrueLove Magazine, she said:
I came to Joburg in 1999 and studied TV presenting and when I went back home, I was very popular because I had met a few celebrities – I think Nimrod (Nkosi) was one of them. I honestly wanted to be a TV presenter because I saw how the YOTV presenters would get free sneakers. I didn’t realise it was so hard.
Zinhle started working as a full-time DJ in 2004, and since then, she has been dropping hit songs one after the other. The DJ has risen to establish her seat at the deejaying industry’s top level over the years. Zinhle’s illustrious career has seen her travel the world to give her fans top-rated entertainment. Her skills were recognised in 2018 and 2019 when she was named Top Female DJ in Africa by DJaneTop.
In March 2020, Forbes Africa announced her as the winner of the Forbes Woman Africa Entertainer Award 2020. She was also recognised as one of the 21 most influential African women by Oprah’s O magazine.
As of late, Zinhle is now one of the most famous female DJs in the world and has been nominated at the Global Music Awards for DJ of the year.
