Baroka FC have fired coach Vincent Kobola and Bushy Moloi is set to take over, iDiski Times has learnt.
Sources have told this publication Kobola was suspended for reasons not revealed and after that the club has fired him.
Since the club’s last game against NB La Masia, which they lost 4-2 before the enforced FIFA World Cup break, Kobola, who has been the assistant coach at the club when Matsemela Thoka and Kgoloko Thobejane were there, has not returned to training to prepare for the resumption of the second half of the season.
Kobola was in charge of the club late last season when Baroka was relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, with the Limpopo side becoming the second team in the DStv Premiership history to go down without winning a match away.
They followed Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs), who recorded this unwanted record in the 2018/19 season.
Kobola, who was linked with a return to Cape Town City to be reunited with Eric Tinkler, leaves the Limpopo side positioned 13th on the MFC table with 11 points after 11 matches.
He also leaves them without a win in the last four matches, losing three of those games.
It is why Baroka have turned to Moloi, who is familiar with the surroundings, though coaching the DStv Diski Challenge team before. He recently won the Varsity Football with the Tshwane University of Technology.
Baroka are making coaching changes because they wants to immediately return to play in the top flight next season.
