Sekhukhune United have suspended four players for arriving under the influence of alcohol to training this weekend.
On Saturday, the club did their usual protocol of breathalyser tests before the session; Sello Motsepe, Tlotlo Leepile, Siyabulela Shai, and Katlego Molaba were confirmed to have failed the test, as first reported by FARPost.
This website can confirm that internal processes have begun to discipline the players, with Motsepe being one of the extreme cases, a source close to the first team confirmed.
“They need to go for internal disciplinary hearings, four of them have been suspended for arriving under the influence of alcohol,” he told iDiski Times.
“Two of them received second chances at the club, it’s disappointing, remember they were released because of the same problem.
“There’s a chance they may be released, it’s a breach of contract, but the legal team are likely to guide the process. Mostepe in particular was over the limit, I’m not sure how he got to training or even home. Only those four failed the breathalyser test, the rest passed.”
Babina Noko management who recently hired Brandon Truter to succeed Kaitano Tembo has been left ‘disappointed’ by the latest happenings as they look to prepare the team to retain their top-flight status in the second half of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign.
