Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe was ruled out of France’s FIFA World Cup squad and replaced by Axel Disasi.
Kimpembe was part of Didier Deschamps’ initial World Cup squad, but had to drop out on Monday.
France confirmed the centre-back “didn’t recover sufficiently” from his recent injury despite featuring for 15 minutes for PSG in their 5-0 win over Auxerre on Sunday.
As a consequence, Kimpembe was replaced by 24-year-old Monaco defender Disasi, who is yet to make his official debut.
Kimpembe was part of France’s 2018 World Cup-winning squad but only made one appearance during the tournament in Russia.
Overall, he has represented Les Bleus 28 times since his debut in March 2018.
