After Mamelodi Sundowns lifted the Carling Black Label Cup, the DStv Premiership champions also banked three million in prize money.
Masandawana dominated the tournament on Saturday, first sending AmaZulu 3-0 packing in the semi-final before hammering 10-man Orlando Pirates 4-0 in the final after Tapelo Xoki was sent off with the a red card.
As a consequence, Sundowns bagged R2 million in prize money for winning the final, in addition to the R2 million they had already received for making the semi-finals, as PSL chairman Irvin Khoza had confirmed ahead of the tournament.

However, Sundowns’ R2 million final prize money will be split, as R500,000 went to a fan and another R500,000 to charity. Hence Masandawana received a R1 million cheque for winning the final.
So overall, Sundowns banked R3 million from Carling Black Label, while Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu all received R2 million for making the semi-finals.
The other 12 DStv Premiership sides all got R100,000 for “throwing their names in the hat”.
