Malema on why whites aren’t joining the EFF, “They don’t have a history of being oppressed”

Economic Freedom Fighter Commander-In-Chief (CIC), Julius Malema is not too phased that other races groups, particularly whites aren’t joining the party.

Malema who is once again in hot waters after his “killing is a revolutionary act” statement, says his party is not banking on support by whites and Indians.

At the party’s Provincial People’s Assembly in the Western Cape last month, Malema told EFF members that they “should not be afraid to kill, because killing is a revolutionary act.”

The statements were declared hate speech by the South African Human Rights Commission.

However, the EFF leader says that his words were once again taken out of context, and have been incorrectly and ignorantly labelled as hate speech or an incitement to violence.

“Firstly, any commentary taken out of context, can be manipulated and distorted, which is the trap the Human Rights Commission has fallen into, at the altar of the egos and fragility of whiteness.”

Could Malema’s words have affected any chance of appealing to other races groups? The party leader doesn’t believe so, say the EFF is for the oppressed in the country.

“We have not neglected Indians and Whites, they come from a position of privilege. We represent the oppressed, so they do not join the EFF because they not have a history of being oppressed. The EFF is a radical movement, after all.

There’s a new leadership in the Western Cape, and we hope to see some growth there. We struggled in the coastal provinces, but there has been a huge improvement. We are also inspired by the new Chairperson of the Eastern Cape, he has got vision and conviction.”
