Model and TV actress Omuhle Gela has left SABC1’sleading soapie Uzalo with immediate effect.
According to Zimoja, the actress who plays Nomaswazi has left Uzalo amid contractual disagreements. Despite moving to KwaZulu-Natal where production takes place, the actress is disappointed after some contract terms were changed by the production without her knowledge.
“She is fuming. She decided not to show up because she feels disrespected. I don’t blame her, how do you agree on certain terms with an actor and then you change the contract. That is unfair,” said the source.
Production is reportedly on hold since the actress did not pitch for work.
“It is such a mess people were told not to come to work, I wonder how they are going to cope the coming month because the script revolves around her character “
Speaking to the outlet, the actress confirmed that she has dumped the show.
“Yes, I’ve unfortunately made the decision to exit, I can’t say much right now but I will certainly agree I am not happy and saw it fit to dismiss myself from the production with immediate effect”
Omuhle confirmed her exit on her Instagram timeline. She said everything reported by the publication is true: “I’ve made the decision to leave the show with immediate effect; everything said in this article is 100% true and I have nothing further to add or dispute.”
