Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has said he is determined to overcome injury setbacks and return to action.
The Burundian international has been on the injury sidelines in the last two weeks after suffering from a groin strain.
BIMENYIMANA LEARNING FROM HIS PAIN
Bimenyimana has taken to his Facebook page to give an update on his path to recovery. “You have to get back up no matter what knocks you down each time,” he said.
The towering forward said he was hopeful of returning to action soon. “The comeback is always better than set back,” Bimenyimana said.
He said he was determined to endure the pain and learn from it. “Giving up is not an option. Great blessings come with great perseverance. The road will always be bumpy, but the destination is worth all the struggle,” he said.
Bimenyimana suffered a groin injury in the recent MTN8 semifinal second-leg match against AmaZulu.
The Burundian and goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune have since been ruled out of the Carling Black Label Cup match against Orlando Pirates on November 12 2022.
A statement from Amakhosi read: “Supporters who selected the duo to start the match will be “refunded” their votes by the organisers and will be allowed to re-cast their votes for players available for team selection.”
JOINT LEADING SCORER
The two players were also absent for the clash against Pirates, which Chiefs won 1-0. The Burundian became the first striker to hit a hat-trick this season and the first player in PSL history to score a hat-trick of penalties.
Bimenyimana is the leading league scorer with six goals alongside SuperSport United striker Bradley Grobler and Mamelodi Sundowns star forward Peter Shalulile.
Amakhosi were drawn with Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup scheduled for FNB Stadium.
The Soweto derby will kick off at noon, followed by a meeting between AmaZulu and Mamelodi Sundowns at 9:30 am.
