The horrific N3 truck collision which claimed four lives on Tuesday, 01 November was caught on dashcam. Footage from another truck’s dashcam shows the moment a speeding truck ploughed into multiple cars in its path.

Traffic was at a standstill just before the Marianhill Toll Plaza, on the N3 from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, when the speeding truck rammed into the cars before coming to a halt.

One of the cars was swept underneath a truck, killing all four of the occupants.

There were multiple injuries and the notorious stretch of road is being called a death trap for motorists who travel the route daily.

Watch the dashcam footage capturing the moment a truck crashes into multiple cars:

It has been reported that two trucks and 6 vehicles were involved in the horror crash.

Two of the four people who were killed have been identified as Minority Front leader, Shameen Thakur Rajbansi’s son and his fiancée.

Pradhil Thakur Kooblall and his fiancée, Priyanka Nundkumar, were en-route to Durban and were engaged to be married in a few months.

There are calls for Fikile Mbalula, the Transport Minister to take accountability for this horrific crash, with people calling it a failure of governance.

“We had successful freight rail services that removed trucks from the roads. The ANC has ensured these death tolls continue.”
