Connie Ferguson, the renowned South African actress, is set to make her highly anticipated return to SABC 1’s Generations: The Legacy.

However, some fans are now wondering whether the incomparable Somizi Mhlongo could also be joining the popular soapie.

CONNIE FERGUSON RETURNS TO ‘GENERATIONS: THE LEGACY’

The beloved actress marks another riveting comeback to Generations: The Legacy, reprising her role as the elegant Karabo Moroka, an iconic character in South African television history.

Connie joined the soapie when it premiered back in 1994 and left many times over the years to explore her talents, such as establishing Ferguson Films alongside her late husband, Shona Ferguson.

In a clip posted on the soapie’s online pages, Connie, looking youthful as ever, walks through the backstage corridors while happily interacting with staff members.

WAIT, IS SOMIZI JOINING ‘GENERATIONS: THE LEGACY’?

While fans look forward to Connie’s comeback, some are speculating whether Somizi’s brief appearance in the video signals a role on the soapie or even a behind-the-scenes position.

Theories quickly floated around, with some suggesting he could be cast as Karabo’s best friend. While others reckoned he might join the wardrobe department given his new path in fashion design.

Somizi has earned his stripes as a performer in his own right, despite standing on the shoulders of acting giants.

His portrayal of Fire in the 1992 film Sarafina! remains memorable, and he continued to take on other acting roles throughout his career.
