In the latest twist of events, Marumo Gallants chairman Abram Sello has insisted head coach Romain Folz had not resigned ahead of his side’s DStv Premiership clash with Swallows FC.
Folz was listed as assistant for Sunday’s clash for their match against Swallows, while a report in Soccer Laduma stated the Frenchman had resigend.
Folz, though, was not present at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, with Raymond Mdaka listed as head coach of the team.
However, Sello insisted that Folz was absent from the game due to personal reasons and has not tendered his resignation.
“100%, he is still my coach. I didn’t receive any correspondence of resignation. I still expect him to be in camp on Monday morning when we train,” Sello told SuperSport TV.
Folz is the youngest head coach in the DStv Premiership. He was previously in charge at Botswana’s Township Rollers, while also had stints at Ashanti Gold and Bechem United in Ghana, while he has been an assistant at Pyramids in Egypt, as well as for the Ugandan national team.
